Made from native Kanuka timber, it is beautifully carved and finished. Note the black tongue on the taiaha, made by ebonising the timber carefully scorching the timber until it bubbles and goes black. Such a cool feature! And to support the taiaha, a beautiful chunky stand, made from native NZ Kauri, with the struts lined with leather to protect the taiaha. Everything has been thought of. This
