MoveSmart for OEMs: Intelligent Asset Management

Digital twin, service tickets and self-service portal for your customers – your team stays fully in SAP.

  • Digital Twin from an SAP order
  • SAP Quality Notification from ticket
  • API-first GraphQL and Webhooks
  • Proven at Tyrolit in its own operations

What is MoveSmart for OEMs?

MoveSmart is the Tyrolit Group's platform for digital asset and service management. For OEMs, Tycom extends the platform with an SAP integration layer: the production order in SAP automatically creates the digital counterpart – the digital twin – of every machine. Your team stays entirely in SAP.

Starting point

Your machines leave the factory. Your visibility shouldn't.

Up until delivery, everything is documented in SAP: order, production, inspection. After that, the customer takes over the machine, and the data trail breaks off. What follows are the three gaps we repeatedly encounter in discussions with OEMs. MoveSmart closes all three gaps – and ensures that your team continues to work in SAP.

  • SAP stops at the factory gate

There is no link between SAP production data and the physical machine once it is out in the field.

  • No structured after-sales channel

Requests come in via phone or email – no traceability, no SAP ticket, no customer notifications.

  • Paper & Excel quality checks

QA forms filled by hand and filed in folders. No digital audit trail, no real-time visibility, no history.

Four use cases, one platform

How MoveSmart works for OEMs

Four situations that occur in virtually every OEM service business, from factory orders to the first customer fault notification. Some are already handled digitally by you today, others still via telephone and Excel lists.

  • Digital twin of a cordless drill driver

    Digital Twin

The machine gets its digital record directly from SAP before it leaves the factory.

    • SAP production order automatically creates the asset
    • QR/NFC tag is placed on the machine during manufacturing, linked to the serial number
    • Assignment of the asset to the respective customer upon delivery
    • Easily accessible manuals, service documents, maintenance and inspection history
  • After-sales service tickets

From the moment a customer submits a ticket to the closing of the SAP quality notification, everything can be handled without your team leaving SAP.

    • Customer scans the QR code on the machine with their smartphone and fills out the short form.
    • An SAP ticket is created automatically.
    • Your team processes the SAP ticket as usual.
    • Customers receive automatic updates via email or push notification.
  • Quality assurance

Digital checklists and inspection reports, automatically archived as PDFs per asset and retrievable at any time.

    • Complete digital QA checklists on smartphone, tablet or PC
    • Result automatically recorded in the asset history and archived as a PDF on the asset.
    • Production progress visible in real time, also accessible to the customer
    • Can serve as evidence in warranty, quality or delivery disputes
  • Superman icon hero

    Self-service for customers

Customers can quickly find relevant information, request service and solve basic issues without having to call.

    • View manuals, instructions and product documents
    • Request regular or on-demand service
    • Check the status of past service requests
    • Receive reminders and updates by email or app
    • No app or account required

In detail

The MoveSmart use cases

  • Movesmart Screenshot Digital Twin

    Digital Twin

The machine receives its digital file before it leaves the factory. The SAP production order automatically creates the asset, and the QR or NFC tag is applied directly in manufacturing and linked to the serial number. Upon delivery, the machine is assigned to the customer – manuals, service history, test logs, and maintenance appointments are attached from day one.

This means that you and your customer always have access to the latest type-specific product information and serial-number-specific service information.

  • Master Data as the Core of Tycom Flow

    After-sales service tickets

A customer scans the QR code on the machine, briefly describes the problem – and that's it. Behind the scenes, this automatically generates an SAP quality notification. Your service team can view the case in SAP, process and prioritise it there as usual, and every status change is sent to the customer by email or app notification.

If something goes wrong, customers come back to you, not to someone else.
Every report also becomes useful data that you can turn into smarter maintenance, better service and follow-up orders.

  • Tycom Flow books directly into SAP

    Quality Assurance

Once the SAP production order is started, the digital twin is created. The digital QA checklists can be completed on a smartphone, tablet or PC. The results are automatically saved as PDFs in the asset records.

If needed, the customer can also view the manufacturing progress in real time without having to call you.

When it comes to complaints, a complete test record linked to the asset's serial number beats an Excel file or a sheet of paper that no one can find years later.

  • BTP-native SaaS architecture from Tycom Flow

    Customer Self-Service Portal

Manuals, product documents, service requests and reminders – your customers can access all of it without additional accounts or apps. Customers can open a new request or check the status of an existing one, and updates arrive by email, with no login required.

The portal carries your brand — not someone else’s. For your service team, that means fewer routine requests and more time for the cases where their expertise really matters.

MoveSmart fills the gaps SAP wasn't built for

Not instead of SAP, but alongside it.

SAP handles orders, master data and internal processes well; that stays unchanged. MoveSmart picks up exactly where last-mile communication with the customer, on site or in production, is needed.

  • SAP informs your team about what is happening in your organisation. From there, MoveSmart takes over and shows what is happening in the field, on the shop floor or at the customer's site.
  • The SAP process ends with the delivery. MoveSmart offers complete traceability across the entire lifecycle, beyond the production line.
  • Your team can keep working with the familiar SAP processes. The customer automatically receives personal updates on the things that matter to them.

In technical terms, this means:

SAP quality notifications, production orders, sales orders and deliveries are synchronised with MoveSmart in real time. The architecture is API-first. This means that, using the GraphQL API and webhooks, all available data can be retrieved and modified – making any kind of integration possible.

Why Tycom

MoveSmart comes from industry — not from the drawing board

MoveSmart is not an off-the-shelf software add-on that is connected to SAP afterwards. The platform was developed with the Tyrolit Group and is already used in live operations – for digital twins, service processes and machine management.

What works at Tyrolit, Tycom is now making available to other OEMs. The real strength lies in the depth of the SAP integration.

  • Deep SAP integration instead of additional software layers. More than 30 years of SAP experience at Tyrolit AG have shaped the way MoveSmart connects to existing processes. Production orders, sales orders, deliveries and quality notifications already run in production via an API-first architecture. This is not a roadmap promise – it is already in daily operation.
  • From the perspective of a manufacturer, not a software provider. Tyrolit manufactures and services its own machines. We know first-hand how quickly visibility is lost once equipment leaves the factory – and how difficult it can be to reconnect machines, customers, service history and internal processes later.
  • Lean project structure. No unnecessary corporate overhead and no months-long pilot phase. A dedicated contact person supports you from the first demo through implementation and productive SAP integration.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is MoveSmart for OEMs?

MoveSmart for OEMs is an asset management platform from the Tyrolit Group that captures your production and service data from SAP and displays it clearly in a digital twin of the machine and in the self-service portal for end customers. Do your customers need SAP access?

No. Customers can access relevant information via scanning the QR or NFC tag with their smartphone. No account or app is required.
